Title: Hello from Iowa!

In 1999 I visited my grandparents in Montana (my grandfather has been a life-long collector of motorcycles and scooters) and my grandfather let me ride his 1947 Simplex in a 4th of July parade. Instantly I fell in love with that bike! Anyway...we just got back from visiting them again and he said the Simplex "had my name on it" and I just had to let him know when I wanted it. Needless to say it was an emotional moment...a grandfather ready to pass this bike on to his granddaughter! So...it sounds like he's making a trip this way in September. I can't wait to post pictures and learn more about this bike!

When he brings it you should record everything.  That way you will be sure to document everything he has to say about it.

Welcome McMahon, I am also from Iowa...south west Iowa in a small town by Clarinda. Not many Iowegians on the site, (prob just you and I ) Where in Iowa are you from? I have been restoring a 55' automatic, and have owned a 47' before also. Lots of info on the site and a lot of great ppl. Make sure you get the whole story from your grandpa, we like to hear all the details.

Welcome.  Come to the VMBC meet in Portland, Indiana in July and meet up with a bunch of us.  You will get to see all kinds of cool old scooters.

She was here last in October , '14 .
