Title: VMBC 2017 Photos
Post by: Ricks on July 25, 2017, 08:36:09 AM
As usual, I had a great time! Spent a lot of time on the Hill with Tom, Travis, Reese, Dave, Bob U, Mike, Ernie, Bob K and Bruce.  We had many people stop by and chat about Simplex all meet long.  I encourage all to attend one of these meets and get to know the people involved.  These are all first rate people looking to have fun with our hobby.

The Diamond T was awesome, with Cummins Diesel power.

The Simplex scooter went home with one of our members.

We had a great time! Thanks for the great pic's. I'll post pic's soon. I can't wait until next year!

I pulled the trigger on the other 47' that I saw in Oley. I will post pic's. I think it is a full blown survivor.
still has original rubber that holds air.  :)

Rick, Did you get rid of the maroon bike already. That was an awesome restoration. Knowing you it's time to get next years project going. Mike is trying to spin the wheels off the stretch. Good seeing you and all the people again. Wauseon was small after the rain. Still had a good time and alot of cool vintage bikes.

No, I didn't sell the maroon bike.

Did Mike get the air cleaner mounted?  Remember, pester him to change that main jet to a 72!  I am curious to see how that works.  It only take 5 minutes.

Post some pictures of Wauseon, if you took some.

I can't wait for next year already!  LOL  I did start rebuilding those Automatic clutches I bought.  I must have the market cornered on those, as I have 3 single track and 1 double track in my stock!

The little Car Bike is interesting , too .

PD,  Seems like it would be an infinite ratio friction drive as the rubber wheel moves in and out on the disc.

Does that rubber wheel move via weights , similar to our clutches or ???

Pete . :)

I wonder if there is a lever to move it?  That drive is commonly used on Snow Blowers.  For you southern guys, that's the white stuff that falls out of the sky during cold weather!  LOL

Do you know what that type drive is called ?
I can't say I'm familiar with it .

Rick ,

I just did a Google search and it seems to be called a friction wheel drive system . Friction wheel and traction plate or pulley .

Interesting .

Pete . :)
