Air cleaners

I have seen two bikes with the air cleaner facing down.  All the rest come out the right side of the bike.  Guess this is just a mistake in installation?  What do you think?

The M manual shows the opening downward .

No it doesn't, that is just a parts diagram and not installed.  Look at the picture and look where the air cleaner bolts go.  Also look at how the air filter bracket attaches to the filter and the magneto.  The air filter should face towards the right.

thanks guys, I have had 5 of these units and they all faced right except the last one I got.
