Reese,
Sorry I missed you. I have been doing a lot of running lately working on other projects. Give me a shout and maybe we can get together. After reading the other posts I'm kicking myself over not making the meet. Glad everyone had a good time and are home safe.
Cheers

I'll need to see how everything stacks up but it sounds like a great time. I'll be going to Sturgis next year for the 75th anniversary in August then Daytona in March. It puts things a little close but again sounds like a must do to me. I think my son would get a kick out of it too. I'll keep you posted.
Cheers

Stafford,
I couldn't make it to Portland this year either, after the trip to Texas to pick up that bike and vacation over the 4th with the family but I plan on going next year. That bike is a 49 and not a 47. The K motor was only made in 1949. I have repaired the throttle and took it to a small antique bike show in Chesnee, SC last week end. It had more pictures taken of it than any other bike there and I'm sure I could have sold it at least 20 times if it was for sale.

BJM,
I'll bring this bike by your shop for you and Billy to look at next week.

Hi Huston,
Glad your enjoying the bike. I got the 56 back from my brother ( it was not touched) and had the seat recovered.
I have put the chopper in the shop for new tires and some mechanical repairs so the Simplex is a little on the back burner.
Not going to give up on the 56 though. My wife has taken it as her own so it is safe.
Stay in touch and post pictures of the bike as it transforms.
Cheers
