so cal simplex owner here, needs help!

A newbie to the forum, and I need help!  I have a 52' servi cycle chassis that I need to get wheels and brakes for. Can anybody on here recommend a wheel and brake combo to use?  If you have suggestions it would be GREAT!  pics welcome too! Starting from scratch here.

Welcome!  What are you trying to build?  Are you going for a restoration or a custom build?  Post some pictures so we can see what you are working with.

I am not going for original. I just want something sturdy. I'm 6'3" and to the scales at 300, so heavy duty spokes are a plus. This is my bike but I don't want to use the original wheels. I also have a 1948 Safti Cycle Cruiser.... all the pics I have of the rolling chassis are too large of file to post.

Worksman wheels.  They are very heavy duty, and you can get them with drum brakes.  They will accept Simplex tires and have been used by many on Simplex's and numerous other motored bikes.

So Worksman wheels with drum brakes? Where can I find them? Can I run their drum on the front and rear?

Google Worksman.  They make front and rear drums.  Are you going belt drive?

Not sure yet. I had a 50 simplex before that used a Whizzer sheave. That was pretty easy. I don't want to use the original wheels that I have, so that means no huge belt around the back wheel. I'm looking to cruise around 35mph, so any suggestions are welcome.

The big sheave is available as a reproduction.  Many people find the belt drive to be one of the charms of the Simplex.

I went with Whizzer wheels I got straight from Whizzer. 2 front wheels and handle bars with throttle, brake levers and cable for a couple of hundred. Seems like they will work fine.

I tried the Worksman route but could not get them to help. If you find their part numbers please put them on this forum.

Worksman front brake drum wheel part # 77A

If you search "worksman" from the main page, there is some info on here.
