Front fender needed
« on: October 29, 2014, 04:18:15 PM »
Anyone have a front fender that they can part with? I called Wayne and placed a large order today. However, he said he only had fiberglass fenders available.

I looked at the fiberglass fenders while at Portland this summer and they looked to me like they would work in a pinch. They have a flare on the end, but it looks to me like it could be cut off pretty easily to look just like an original. How does he have them priced? I don't know if I would want to go to all the trouble if I had to pay premium price.

I have a front fender, well... part of one. The previous owner lopped about 2 1/2" off the front. I might just round off what I have for now  until I come across one. I guess I'm lucky to have something to work with.

I think you will find that's the case w/ most of the original fenders. Both of my fenders have been bobbed.

If it's only been cropped 2.5" ,I'd get a piece of sheet steel and shape a repair part to weld on. Or give it a heck of try to salvage it.

I just got myself into a couple of frames.  Pretty sure I have a decent front fender. Need to take it off and check it out better.

Please let me know! Thanks! Wayne couldn't blame me for wanting to hold out on a steel fender.
