Dutch Simplex motor company
« on: June 19, 2015, 03:23:06 AM »
In my research for information i found out that there was also a Dutch(and British) Simplex factory that produced motorbikes. The Dutch Simplex company in amsterdam produced motorcycles with four and two cilinders chaindriven since 1902 till 1940. After the war they only produced mopeds and bycicles until 1965. Then the company was sold and losts it's original name.
Not many servicycles around in the Netherlands.
I found one so far in a ww2 related museum. It's a servicycle but not the GA1 model. I added some pictures, maybe you can identify the model off servicycle.

Interesting , that the secondary drive is by chain . I wonder is that a military change?
I dont know all the dating clues . It has the bicycle type goose neck and appears to have a single gas cap . If military I'd guess early to mid 40s., but thats only a guess.
thanks for sharing the photo .
