engine size

I want to do something different and the 2 engines I am looking at one is 17.95" tall the other is 19.75" tall has any one ever put an engine in of this size and made it fit

Not without doing major framework or going without a fuel tank. What kind of engine are you looking to put in?  ???

Diesel? Hum, I've pondered that before. Shoot I even looked into old snowmobile engines as a possible source. Most are too tall even singles.
