Old new member checking in
« on: September 01, 2016, 10:49:02 AM »
Hi all, my name is Milt and my affair with Servi Cycles started when I was 14 in 1951 after my family bought me a 1941 model for $25.  It was a push start model but had an H model engine.  I rode around the streets of Bryan, Texas on that trusty Servi for many years.  Unfortunately my younger brother gave it away while I was in the USAF.  About 12 years ago, I bought a basket case to restore and a couple of years later bought another basket case.  The first one has been running for several years now but was never fully restored because I let my grandchildren ride it while they were young.  I now plan on finishing the restoration of first one and have begun work on the second one.  BTW,  after the first Servi Cycle project, I completely restored a James ML.  I have a few pictures I can share of my various projects when I find out how to post pics.  I'm looking forward to interacting on the forum.

Welcome Milt36 . :)

We like pics , so post 'em up . ;)

To post pictures on this board and most others , you need to first open an account on a photo hosting website such as Photobucket.
http://photobucket.com/
Once you sign up and have an account, you can upload your photos from your computer to the Photobucket account. When you get ready to upload, you can use the image processing software on your computer to size your photos to 640x480 pixels, or you can edit them using the tools provided by the hosting site. In any case, you'll want to ensure your photos are limited to 640x480 pixels. This size fits nicely on every board and is large enough for detail without getting grainy .
To post a photo in a thread , click on the picture in Photobucket . That picture will appear in a new window with several lines of code to the right . Double click the code with the IMG tag. Then paste it in the Reply box below .

Hope this helps, or at least gets you started.

Pete . :)

Welcome Milt!

Posting pictures here is easier than PD makes it.  If the picture is on your computer, you can post it here, as long as the size is under 1500kb.

To post a picture, click the addition options button under the dialog box.  Then click the attach button and find the photo on you computer.  To add additional photos click on more attachments.

I've added a few pics of my Servi-Cycle stuff that might be of interest.  My engine test stand (such as it is) works effectively.  The old style springer fork which I personally prefer is on my H model.  My shop built air cleaner might be of interest, and my Servi-Cycle banner which I've never seen offered for sale anywhere.  I bought this one in the little town at the foot of Mt. Rushmore.  This post is a test to see if I can post pictures.  If it works, there are more which might be of interest.

PS:  my pictures don't seem to be uploading.  I resized the to 640x480 pixels (I think) but the process doesn't seem to be working for me.

Is that upright suppose to be bent ?

And will you have to shave the knobs off the right side of the tire to clear the brake rod ? Maybe just bend the rod ...

I have to say , I like the creative 'engineering' . :D

Both uprights are straight on my '57 .

It almost looks like Milt36 might have bent his to accommodate that air filter . But ???
