Both uprights are straight on my '57 .

It almost looks like Milt36 might have bent his to accommodate that air filter . But ???

Pete, this is a shifter bike.  I looked at some pictures of others, and it looks correct to me.

BTW, at the Texas British Motorcycle Owners Association meet in 2012, I won the barrel push on the James, proving it's not just another garage queen....
