Still Wondering About Original Paint
« on: March 16, 2019, 09:34:10 AM »
Well I went to another talk forum concerning  67 to 69 Camaros to see if I could upload a photo there & it worked like a charm. The same photo I have been trying for a week to upload here with no luck. For some strange reason I can not post a photo anywhere on this forum. So I will just describe the photo.
On my back fender there is an old round yellow decal that says "CERTIFIED NOT OVER 6 BRAKE H.P. SIMPLEX MANUFACTURING CORPORATION NEW ORLEANS 19 LOUISIANA."
Is  this decal still available in reproduction? I am wondering if someone just repainted the gas tank on this bike years ago & NOT the fenders, frame, wheels, etc. I know the decal on the gas tank is wrong & the paint looks better on the tank than the rest of the scooter. Also this bike came with an old license plate that's from New Mexico, 1973. I am wondering if that was the last time this bike was registered. I don't know anything about tracing the license plate back to see if it actually was assigned to this scooter in 73.
The way one uploads photos on the Camaro site is almost identical to the way one would do it here on this site. The photo is 84.6KB according to my computers "Properties."

So what thinkest thou? Does someone reproduce this particular decal? Or, would (at least) this part of the bike be original paint? Thanks for posting the photo. :)

I have seen the 5hp and the 6hp available on ebay.  Plus I would think Wayne has them.  Foxgrips ebay seller has them
