I have to agree . The crank 'center' bore seems to be a bottleneck , compared to the carb intake port and the cylinder transfer ports . Although , the Tillotson MT carb venturi might be a closer match . I don't know what the throat of the Carpenter carb measures .

Carb venturi is 5/8".

Well I got my parts in from Wayne. (mag cover, air cleaner assy, rings and gaskets.
Polishing the cover and air cleaner now, but my regular job keeps getting in the way.
Maybe Jan. I can get back on it.

we've used Glyptol paint our race engines for many years. As long as surface was clean never had a problem. Had a hard time trying to get it off even with continued boiling. Great stuff!
