Nice looking job.  What are you planning for the sides....original decals or custom paint?

Hey Mike, I was gonna bury the vinyl decals in the clear but changed my mind at the last minute...so for now they will go on top of the paint.

Looking real good there. Are you going to pinstripe the fenders?   ???

Lookin good. It is never a good idea to clear over vinyl unless you know what kind of vinyl you are working with. The solvents can lift the vinyl and break down the adhesive, and you wind up with a big mess. Always a good idea to test the clear on vinyl b4 spraying on a nice new paint job. Looking really good.

Yes every part including the frame, wheels, brackets, etc. has been stripped, bodyworked primered and sanded multiple times and then painted with Dupont Chromabase and Chroma-clear attention to detail is the only way to do things right! a lot of people will just sandblast their item shoot some primer on it and then paint it without doing any other work to it, or powder coat it...the bad part about that is that a lot of imperfections will remain(pits, scratches, and dents) and will be noticeable-I prep every part the same it does not matter  if you can see it or not! even the fenders get prepped on both sides...In my book that,s what separates the men from the boys! but seriously those are the kind of details that it takes to stop someone in their tracks when they look at something that is done right!!

Really Nice!

The one issue with over restoring things is they have a tendency to sit in the garage unused for fear of getting it dirty.  Don't let that happen; these bikes were built as cheap transportation.

I don't consider doing something right over restored...and no matter what i drive everything! I've never owned a trailer queen-car or motorcycle! I have this printed on my business cards- "The bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of low cost!"

I didn't mean to touch a nerve.  My apologies.

Over restored, at least in my book, means better than the factory would have produced; no more, no less.  There is no doubt many of us, including myself, do this.

Bring that bike to Portland this summer and we can ride together!
